The Farm Agricultural Resources and Mediation of Virginia welcomes Adam O’Neal, Credit Counselor, for their new credit counseling services.

Cullowhee, NC – March 23, 2022 – The Farm Agricultural Resources and Mediation of Virginia (FARMVA) welcomes Adam C. O’ Neal, Credit Counselor, to provide credit counseling assistance to the agricultural community. O’Neal with a background in agricultural business, will be an essential asset for the Virginia farming community to take advantage of.

“Adam O’Neal has bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration Management and Human Resource Management, as well as a Master of Business Administration. He has taught business, accounting, agribusiness, and student development courses at Virginia Western Community College where he helped to develop the college’s agriculture program. He is also a STEM Program Advisor at the VWCC. O’Neal served in the United States Navy for twenty years as an Engineering Watch Supervisor and a Master Engineering Laboratory Technician. In other positions, he managed projects of up to a million dollars” according to Judith Ogden, Mediation Director of FARMVA.

As part of FARMVA’s goal to prevent foreclosures, credit counseling services are being provided free of charge for agricultural producers. O’Neal will interview farmers to evaluate their financial position, especially with respect to credit concerns and opportunities. He is also qualified to advise producers in decision-making about various agribusiness projects. All information shared with O’Neal and the other counselors will be kept confidential. Should mediation ultimately be resorted to, the credit counselors will not be involved in the mediation.
