Importing a\u00a0<\/span>R<\/span>esource from Canvas Commons<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

The following steps will walk you through the process of importing a resource from Canvas Commons into your Canvas course. <\/span><\/p>\n

For this example, we’ll walk through the process of importing the “AI Course Ethics Module” into a Canvas course.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. In Canvas, navigate to\u202fthe course you wish to import the\u202fmodule\u00a0into.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. From the\u202fHome Page of the course, click on the <\/span>Import from Commons<\/span><\/b> button on the top right side of the screen.\u00a0The Canvas Commons page will load, and now we can search for\u202fcontent to add.\u00a0<\/span>We’ll<\/span> be looking for the “<\/span>AI Course Ethics<\/span> Module”<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. In the search bar underneath the Canvas Commons navigation, type “<\/span>AI Course Ethics Module<\/span>“. The site will bring up content that matches your search term as soon as you finish typing.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Click on the title of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>resource<\/span>\u00a0you wish to import – this will bring you to the resource details page.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    5. To<\/span>\u00a0start the process of importing the\u00a0<\/span>modul<\/span>e into your course, on the right side of the page, click<\/span>\u00a0Import\/Download<\/span>. The Import\/Download panel will appear on the right side of the page.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    6. To select the course you want to import the module into, in the Import\/Download panel, use the <\/span>Search for a course<\/span><\/b>\u00a0field at the top of the panel<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Search for\u00a0the\u00a0destination\u00a0course, then when the course appears in the courses list, click the checkbox to the left of the\u00a0course’s\u00a0name to select it.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    7. To finish importing the resource into your course, underneath the list of courses in the Import\/Download panel, click the blue\u202f<\/span>Import into Course<\/span><\/b>\u00a0button.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    8. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the resource details window, and the resource will be imported into your Canvas course \u2013 this process may take several minutes. Once the resource finishes importing, it will be visible in your Canvas course.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    9. Once the content is in your course, you can adjust where it appears in your course content and customize the contents of pages in the module to meet your course’s needs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
