{"id":16419,"date":"2020-08-28T14:48:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T14:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/cfc\/?p=16419"},"modified":"2020-08-28T14:48:47","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T14:48:47","slug":"faculty-can-register-for-video-conference-mid-semester-course-analysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/cfc\/blog\/2020\/08\/28\/faculty-can-register-for-video-conference-mid-semester-course-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Can Register for Video-Conference Mid-Semester Course Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_16446\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16446\" class=\"wp-image-16446 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/cfc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/87\/2020\/08\/AdobeStock_334593158.jpeg?resize=300%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Videoconference with laptop\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16446\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Coulter Faculty Commons facilitating a mid-semester course analysis with students.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Faculty may now schedule Coulter Faculty Commons staff for a mid-semester course analysis for a fall course.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The\u00a0<strong><a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/cfc\/qcd\">Quick Course Diagnosis<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(QCD) takes about 20 minutes and helps faculty better understand challenges their students are facing with content, pacing, performance, and student behavior.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>All fall 2020 QCDs will be conducted during a regularly scheduled class time which occurs in any video-conferencing software<\/strong> (Bb Collaborate, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom) during the weeks of <strong>September 21 &#8211; 25<\/strong>, and <strong>September 28 &#8211; October 3<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">For the fall 2020 term, we have capacity to visit 12 classes, and scheduling is first-come, first-serve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Faculty may schedule through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wcu.az1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_8uJioMNCfxQdEA5\">a Qualtrics link<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The process generates student insights about the course, teacher, and student behavior, ranging from observations\u00a0about testing, reading load, clarity of assignments,\u00a0accessibility of the professor, and even systematic issues that go beyond the individual classroom.
