There are\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a number of<\/span><\/span>\u00a0different ways that we have been building out our support resources for\u00a0<\/span><\/span>facult<\/span><\/span>y\u00a0 and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0students to help make this transition easier to navigate.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Most user-interaction research is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>showing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0that an efficiently organized resource that can be searched\u00a0<\/span><\/span>provides the best user experience.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 We still have ways to \u201cget a person,\u201d but often that \u201cperson\u201d is going to be searching the same knowledgebase that you already have access to as a user.\u00a0 We\u2019d urge you to explore the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>many resources we have for help before you need them for a specific solution.\u00a0 And, of course, if you are unable to find it, we\u2019ll do everything we can to try to get you to a solution.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Canvas Help During Spring of 2021<\/h3>\n

During the Spring of 2021, students and faculty can access the<\/span><\/span>\u00a024\/7<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Canvas chat portal<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and support hotline.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0WCU has purchased\u00a0<\/span><\/span>this ex<\/span><\/span>tra Canvas help to assist faculty and students in the pilot\u00a0<\/span><\/span>during the s<\/span><\/span>pring<\/span><\/span>\u00a02021 semester<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and to assist faculty as they work to transition their courses for the Fall and Summer of 2021.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WCU Specific Requests<\/h3>\n

For\u00a0<\/span>WCU specific\u00a0<\/span><\/b>requests\u00a0<\/span><\/b>like enrollments, how to use Panopto, Poll\u00a0<\/span>Everywhere, or any other integration, the best place to start is at the WCU IT Help Portal.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t find the answer in the database (which is basically a tag-oriented searchable FAQ), you can submit a ticket<\/span>\u00a0and a member of the local support team will get to you as soon as possible.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Canvas Community<\/h3>\n

There is also a community site for Canvas\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0<\/span>has<\/span>\u00a0some\u00a0<\/span>general questions<\/span>\u00a0and answers<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Note, however, that there are some differences in Canvas installations and so, for example, WCU uses Panopto for video storage<\/span>\u00a0and OneDrive for\u00a0<\/span>your protected online work<\/span>\u00a0storage<\/span>\u00a0of student and\u00a0<\/span>course<\/span>\u00a0data, etc.<\/span>, so\u00a0<\/span>our Canvas users\u00a0<\/span>won\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0be storing their videos and large files di<\/span>rectly in the Canvas course or in Dropbox or in Google Drive.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
