Johnny R. Albright

Johnny Albright, 66, brother, uncle, and friend, went to his heavenly home on August 8, 2024. He was born on August 15, 1957, in Burlington to the late John Albright, Jr and Louise Stout Albright. A graduate of Southern Alamance High School in 1975, he holds an undergraduate degree from Elon University in accounting, and a master’s degree from Western Carolina University in American History.

He was a member of Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences, Alpha Chi National Honor Society, and Phi Alpha Theta International Honor Society in History. A lifeline learner, he continued his studies at various other universities and held positions in higher education environments his entire career. He retired from UNC as a Budget and Reimbursement Analyst in the Dept of Emergency Medicine on July 1, 2024.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Humphries and husband Kenneth of Alamance, niece Brittany Humphries of Graham, extended family members, and many lifelong friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Johnny loved history, Genealogy, Drum Corps, music, reading, and sports of all kinds. He was a genuinely nice guy with an infectious smile and laugh. He will be truly missed.
