Lewis E. Tyler
Lewis was a 1968 graduate of Corning-Painted Post West High School in Painted Post, NY. He was retired after 40 years as a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam, Active Reserves, and National Guard. He retired with the rank of major. He later worked for over 7 years with the Department of Defense. Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, bowling, and spending time with his family. One of his proudest accomplishments was the installation and reestablishment of electrical grids throughout Central and Northern Iraq, bringing electricity to parts of Iraq that had never had electric. Lewis received countless awards for his leadership, expertise, and dedication to his soldiers and country. Lewis was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Tyler, of Crossville, TN; sons, Michael L. Tyler of Haddon Township, NJ and Kevin E. Tyler and his wife Alicia of Lindley, NY; brothers: James Tyler of Beaver Dams, NY, Gerald Tyler and his wife Robin of Fulton, NY, Kenneth Tyler and his wife Cindy of Lindley, NY, and Gary Tyler of Rocky Point, NC; sister, Shirley Lechnowsky and her husband Walter of Crossville, TN; grandchildren: Makenzie Fusco and her husband Shawn, Landon Slager, Abigail Tyler, Bailey Tyler, Hayden Slager, Elena Tyler, Sebastian Tyler and Chase Tyler; great-grandchildren: Sophia, Paisley, and Carsen Fusco; niece and nephew, Leanna Pitcock and Jason Lechnowsky; and several other nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved pets, Chewy and Annie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Shirley Tyler and Mary Tyler.
