Phillip “Phil” M. Bailey
Mr. Phillip Michael Bailey, of Union, widower of Benemma Bentley Bailey, passed away peacefully at his home on May 11, 2025.
Phil was born August 13, 1948 a son of the late Wendell and Lelia Young Bailey. He was a graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville, NC and Western Carolina University, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Phil retired after a 30 year career with the U.S. Forest Service. He had an avid interest in studying his family history and participated for many years in Civil War Reenactments in South Carolina. Phil loved his family, watching sunsets, and riding his ATV on the family property.
Surviving are his four brothers, Steve (Nancy), Bill (Beth), Kenny (Nancy), and Danny Bailey (Tonja); his beloved aunt, Frances Vaughan; a close cousin, Janet (Levine) and multiple nephews, nieces, and cousins.
