Robert “Bob” L. Harrison

FRANKLIN – Robert “Bob” L. Harrison, 78, passed away at his home following a prolonged illness, Sunday, July 13, 2025.
He was born April 6, 1947, in Waynesville, to the late Robert L. and Margret Underwood Harrison. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister Cathy (Richard) Holford of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 through 1969 during the Vietnam War. He received an associate degree in electronics, went on to Western Carolina University to earn a BA in English and creative writing, then a master’s in education and English and an advanced degree in education. He taught at Haywood Technical College, Western Carolina University and retired after 35 years working at Southwestern Community College.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Carpenter Harrison; children, Adrianne (Eric) Jameson of Toccoa, Georgia, and Robert (Chelcie) Harrison of Bunnlevel; grandchild, Annabelle Jameson; and several nieces and nephews.
He loved to fish, work and game on his various computers and write. He has published three books. He was known for his ready laugh, kind heart and thoughtful approach to life.
