Henry B. Warren

Henry Brown Warren passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2026. We give thanks for the 78 years of his blessed life.

Henry was born on May 31, 1947, to the late Claude Warren and the late Geneva “Petey” Brown Warren. He was raised among the mountains of Haywood County and was a 1966 graduate of Bethel High School. Following his graduation, Henry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the distinguished Purple Heart medal in recognition of his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to his country and fellow Marines.

Following his military career, Henry continued his education at Western Carolina University, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. His next life journey led him to being employed as a meat and poultry inspector for the state of North Carolina. This job took Henry all across the Western North Carolina counties, and where he earned great respect from the people he served.

Henry was an avid reader, and his happiest moments were spent relaxing along the creek bank, where he enjoyed listening to the water, breathing the mountain air, and finding great peace in being in the outdoors.

Henry was one of eleven children, and several of his siblings have preceded him in death. Still, several others remain to carry Henry’s memory on in their hearts. His cousin, Carl, has stood faithfully by Henry’s side for 30 years and has been an important part of his life. Henry will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Mr. Carl Warren officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is deeply honored to be caring for the Warren family.
