Laura J. Price

Mrs. Price was the daughter of the late Dr. Maurice Baker Richardson, DDS and the late Jane Murphy Carpenter Richardson. She graduated from Albemarle High School. Laura Jane or “LJ” obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina in 1981.

Laura Jane married the late Robert Mathis Cleveland of Greenville, South Carolina. They welcomed daughter, Katelan Suzanne. LJ relocated to New Bern, North Carolina to begin her eleven year career in social work.

Mrs. Price married the late Russ Everett Price of Rome, Georgia on March 20, 1999, at the family farm in Wears Valley, Tennessee. LJ returned to Western Carolina University for a Master’s Degree in Education becoming a double alumna in 2001.

Laura Jane relocated to Morehead City, North Carolina to begin her thirteen year career of teaching at Newport Middle and later at Atlantic Elementary. Mrs. Price also taught at the Jackson County School of Alternatives in Sylva, North Carolina.

Mrs. Price is survived by her daughter, Katelan Suzanne, of Atlanta, Georgia; and four step-children, Jayme and Krystal Cleveland and Heather and Rayne Price; two grandchildren, Annalee and Elliot Price. LJ will also be missed by numerous cousins from her parents and friends made along her path in life.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Flowers may be sent to the family care of Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
