Jo Ann L. Lisk
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, Jo Ann (Lemieux) Lisk passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Jo Ann was born in Shirley, Massachusetts on November 1, 1952 as the second of three daughters, while her father was stationed at Ft. Devins.
In 1975, Jo Ann received her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Sandhills Community College in Southern Pines, NC. In 1986, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Carolina University.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Germaine (Bessette) Lemieux, her father Joseph Wilfred Lemieux, and sister, Marie (Lemieux) Paul.
She devoted her career to nursing and served in emergency departments, labor & delivery and home healthcare agencies across the mid-Atlantic Region. After retirement she volunteered her nursing skills at the Pregnancy Center & Clinic of The Low Country, located on Hilton Head Island, SC, where she was instrumental in the implementation of electronic medical records.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend to many. She was the matriarch of the family. Her dedication to her family ensured multiple generations remained connected by strong ties.
She is survived by her husband, Steve, three children, Jeffrey (Deana) Lisk, Denise (Stan) Flowers, and Erin (Chris) Raney. She has six grandchildren: MacKenzie (Kevin), Madison, Parker, Evangeline, Tyler and Viviana. She also is survived by her sister, Patricia (Wayne) Turner and Brother-in-law David (Teresa) Paul.
