Ceasar J. Hunt
Brother Ceasar Jonathan Hunt, born on April 4, 1969, in Marion, South Carolina, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 55. A man of immense integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication, Ceasar left a profound impact on all who were fortunate to know him. Born to the late Annie Mae Hunt and late John Davis Hunt, Ceasar attended Marion High School and also received a special invitation to attend The Governor’s School. He graduated from Marion High School in 1987.
He pursued higher education at Western Carolina University and excelled as both a scholar and an athlete. Ceasar was a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. Ceasar’s talent extended beyond the field and classroom. He was a gifted artist with a brilliant mind. His passion for giving back led him to return to Marion County as a coach and teacher, where he positively influenced the lives of many young people. For the past decade, Ceasar was a valued member of the Mattress Firm family. His colleagues remember him as a devout trainer, mentor, and manager. He built a reputation as someone who went above and beyond to support and uplift those around him. His impact on the company and his community was profound and lasting.
Ceasar’s dedication and kindness continue to resonate through the lives he touched. Ceasar was a beloved husband to his wife, Michele Carieri-Hunt, a devoted father to Jonna Audrianna Wood and Jordan Alliah Davis, and a proud grandfather to Mason Armstrong Wood, Audrianna Mahlynn Griffin, and Eryn Simone Davis. He was a loving stepfather to Joseph Daniel Carieri.
He is survived by his siblings: Alicia Johnetta Hunt of Rome, GA; Eric Hunt of Rome, GA; Allen Clifford Cooper of Marion, SC; Alexander Louis Cooper of Georgia; Emerson Colect Hunt of Marion, SC; and John Davis Hunt of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Faye Bryant of Dallas, GA; Frank James Cooper of Columbia, SC; and Dawnta Cooper of Charlotte, NC. He leaves his love for many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and extended family. His love for people was a cornerstone of his life and his presence is unforgettable.
Ceasar’s life was marked by his selflessness, intentionality, and unwavering commitment to uplifting those around him. He was a man whose greatness was reflected not only in his achievements but in the way he lived – full of soul, intentionality, and heart that will echo in the memories of all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered with fondness and admiration as a man who made the world better.
Funeral arrangements for the late Brother Ceasar Jonathan Hunt are scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024 – at 3:00 pm, at CD Joyner Auditorium 161 Elizabeth Street, Marion, SC 29571. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Funeral Home Facebook page.
