Eric Julian
Eric Julian, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 at “The Haven in the Village at Carolina Place”, a memory care facility in Pineville, NC. Eric was in the company of his long-time companion, Patty Cox, her sister, Janice Heavner, the staff, and the devoted care of hospice.
Born March 11, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Eric was the son of the late Leslie Beard Julian and Emma Jayne Adams Julian. At an early age, his family moved to Charlotte, NC, where he attended Myers Park Elementary, A.G. Junior High, and in 1973, graduated from Myers Park High School. Eric continued his education at Western Carolina University, where in 1978, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
After graduation, Eric’s interest was in custom home building where he pursued his life-long career as a North and South Carolina Licensed General Contractor and Real Estate Broker in the Charlotte Mecklenburg County and Union County areas. Eric was highly respected by his clients and all who worked with him and for him. He went out of his way with precision and care to see that his homes were built with the highest of quality. Like an artist, Eric considered his work to be his canvas, as he quoted many times, “My Work is My Canvas”. His clients spoke highly of him and are a testament of his excellence in the world of construction.
Eric had a love for life, people, and his 4 Brittany Spaniel dogs: Cotton, James Brown, Lily White and Freddie Prince. He enjoyed outdoor sports especially golfing, fishing, boating, biking, hiking, and snow skiing. One of Eric’s favorite activities was trout fishing in the NC mountains streams. He also had a love for antique cars in which he restored a 1929 Ford “Model A” that belonged to his father. You may have seen Eric driving around in his “29”. Eric always looked forward in attending the Western Carolina University’s Homecoming football games with former WCU graduates where tailgating was second to none! He was a big fan of the Tennessee Volunteers no matter what sport they were playing. This was a tribute to his father who attended University of Tennessee.
He is survived by his long-time companion, best friend and caregiver of 28 years, Patricia (Patty) Cox; sister, Leslie Golden and husband, Jeff Golden of Bellingham, Washington; brother, Christopher Julian and wife Renee Julian of Charlotte, NC.; nieces, Sierra Golden and Seren Julian; and nephew, Grant Golden.
