Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed living life to its fullest and loved dearly his two children Aubrie Dyan Miller and Jake German Miller of Sylva. Joe was a 1993 Enka High School Graduate and pursued his education at Western Carolina University. Joe was a gifted carpenter and was currently employed with Forest Mill Work in Asheville, N.C. 

Joe leaves behind his loving parents Eddie and Jill Miller of Candler, N.C., sister Myra Miller-Rice (Jon) and niece Alora Rice of Asheville, his former wife of 20 years, Ashley Hale Miller of Sylva and their two children Aubrie and Jake. He was loved by his aunts and uncles Beth White, Lisa Penland, Judy McCracken, Ginger (Mark) Galyean, Avery (Karen) Haney and Tim Miller. He leaves behind his special significant other Tina Theys from Chattanooga, Tenn. and her two precious grandchildren, and his forever friends Todd and Amanda (Cole) James of Cullowhee. Joe is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents German “Nazi” and Mary Louise Miller and maternal grandparents James and Jewel Penland and uncles Alan McCracken and Doug Penland.
