Diane W. Rollins

Diane W. Rollins, 77, of Rosman, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born in Canton, NC, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Cooper Worley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Rollins; her daughter Wendy O’Toole; and her brother Jerry Cooper.

A graduate of Western Carolina University where she earned both her undergraduate and Masters Degrees, and was a founding member of the Phi Mu Sorority, she became a teacher with a passion not only for teaching but also for her students. She loved to challenge her students to exceed their own expectations of what they could achieve. She looked beyond the “cover” of the student to find the students full potential. She was patient and kind, generous with both her time and energy, but she was also no-nonsense when she had to be.

She loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. She loved her Lord and her family most of all.

Her loving survivors include her son, Rusty Rollins; grandchildren Tyler James Rollins and C.J. O’Toole; her sister-in-laws Marianne Cooper and Joan Benfield, both who were more like sisters.
