Frank Galloway Jr.

Frank Galloway Jr., age 81, of Hayesville passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was a 1961 graduate of Hayesville High School where he was a star basketball player. He graduated from Young Harris College and then went on to earn his Master’s degree in business administration from Western Carolina University. Frank began his career in banking, where he worked for the next 15 years. He later taught at Tri-County Community College. After leaving T.C.C.C. he opened a school of real estate and a tax office (Tax-Mart), which he operated for many years.

Frank was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and as treasurer throughout the construction of the new church. He loved his church and his church family deeply. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. Frank and Joann enjoyed traveling together including trips to Rome, British Isles, London and Paris. His greatest joy was the time spent with his grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Earl Frank Galloway Sr. and Willette Marie Hogsed Galloway.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 58 years, Joann Galloway of Hayesville, NC ; one daughter, Amy Talley and husband Chris of Hendersonville, NC; one son Tim Galloway and wife Lindsay of Marietta, GA; two sisters, Sherry Franklin and husband Gene of Dalton, GA, and Suzanne Hedden and husband Paul of Hayesville, NC; six grandchildren, Fletcher Talley and wife Ashley, Camryn Talley, Ethan Galloway, Summer Galloway, Lucy Galloway, and Benji Talley; and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Aubree. Frank is also survived by a host of extended family.
