Glenda A. Pardue

Above all else, Glenda was passionate about her children.  Her unwavering love and devotion were the cornerstone of her family, she cherished every moment spent with them.  This devotion was especially evident in her unwavering support at every athletic event her children participated in, every graduation; she was most happy when they were all together.   Her presence was a constant source of encouragement and love.  She will live on in their smiles.

Glenda possessed a remarkable ability to seek out peace and calm.  Her gentle and patient nature created a sense of harmony and security for those around her.  She rarely, if ever, became angry, choosing instead to respond with compassion and understanding.  As a school social worker, she touched the lives of countless students, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and unwavering support.  Her compassionate nature shone through in all her interactions, making everyone feel seen, heard and valued.  She was truly selfless, always willing to lend a helping hand or a comforting word.  “She is just so sweet” is the most common phrase people use to describe her.

She shared a deep and loving bond with her husband, Johnny.  They were inseparable, and she especially cherished their day trips, particularly to the mountains.  She found joy and solace in the breathtaking scenery and the quiet moments they shared, sitting on the benches in Blowing Rock or sharing a picnic at Julian Price.  The mountains held a special place in her heart, reminding her of the beauty of God’s creation.  As an alumnae of Western Carolina University the mountains always felt ingrained in her.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Johnny, her children Beth (Nick) and Michael (Brooke), her siblings Dean (Nina), Wanda (Don), Jan and David (Becky) and countless nieces and nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
