Raleigh “Dick” R. Davis

Raleigh Richard “Dick” Davis, 80, of New London, formerly a resident of Thomasville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born September 19, 1944 in Davidson County to the late Ellis Hubert Davis and Lucille Kennedy Davis. He was a member of Fair Grove Church. A graduate of Thomasville High School and later Western Carolina University, graduating Cum Laude. Dick started working washing cars for Thompson Ford in Thomasville. This love of cars lead to his career with Ford Motor Company. He began work after college in Charlotte, beginning a 35-year career in numerous management positions throughout the country. He enjoyed life, whether it be playing golf, watching races, reading or spending time at the beach with his family. Dick was a man of faith, and took pride in reading and gaining as much knowledge as possible about the bible. He was active in teaching and participating in numerous disciple study groups. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ellis “Pete” Hubert Davis, Jr. and one sister, Terry Davis.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Brenda Cranford Davis of the home; son, Chad Davis and wife Effie; grandson, Raleigh Davis and wife Anna; two great-grandchildren, Rich and Remy Davis.
