Rebecca “Becky” S. O’Kelley
Becky was born in Enoree, SC to the late John Leslie and Ruth Goodwin Sharpe. She graduated from Enka High School and Western Carolina University.
Being a wife, mother and grandmother was what Becky cherished above all else and the role that she held most dear. She loved being a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. She worked at Suntrust/Truist Bank later on in life.
Becky was truly one of a kind. Exquisite and unique – she loved paving her own path and walking to the beat of her own drum. In addition to spoiling her family, she loved talking to her grandbabies, rocking them to sleep, eccentric adjectives, summers at Myrtle Beach, seventies music, sweet tea and Sun Drop, slow southern drawls, clean cotton candles and turning on lamps at sunset. She is and will always be adored and cherished beyond words for the unparalleled light she shed and the never ending love and sweetness she radiated.
Becky is survived by the other half to her whole, her husband of 41 years; Steven O’Kelley, who she met at Enka High School when she was only 16. She is also survived by a daughter, Erin O’Kelley Pittenger and her husband, Brock; a son, Dillon O’Kelley; four grandchildren that think she hung the moon: Erin’s children: Knox, Beckett and Leighton Belle; Dillon’s daughter, Kennedy, and Becky’s sisters, Crystal Sharpe of Moore, SC and Julia Sharpe of Candler, NC.
