Sue M. Carmichael
Sue Masten Carmichael, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1937 in Forsyth County to the late Robert E. Masten and Brona Smothers Masten.
Mrs. Carmichael graduated from RJ Reynolds High School and later from Western Carolina University. She was a member of Trinity Moravian Church, where she sang in the choir. She had a passion for crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Corky” Carmichael; and her sister, Martha Comeaux.
Mrs. Carmichael is survived by her sons, Thomas Carmichael, John Carmichael (Judy) and Paul Carmichael (Dawn) ; grandchildren, Lauren, Katharine, Ryan, Dillon, Christopher, Troy, and Tiffany; and great-grandchild, Allison Grace Sturgill.
