Jerome “Brock” Parker
A proud member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Brock was raised by his nurturing mother, Connie, and supportive father, Jerry. From his mother, he inherited a deep sense of honesty, compassion and kindness – qualities that defined his interactions with everyone he met. From his father, he embraced a sharp business acumen and a profound love for hunting and fishing. Brock was a natural protector and provider, a born leader, and fiercely committed to those he loved.
Brock’s passion for competition ignited at just 15 years old as a Grand National Cross-Country ATV racer. In 2002, he made history as the youngest GNCC champion, demonstrating remarkable skill and determination. The following year, he joined Kawasaki Motors’ 2003 Team Green ATV GNCC race team, further solidifying his presence in the sport. Brock secured sponsorships, but more importantly forged lasting friendships through the sport he loved.
Having attended Southwestern Community College and Western Carolina University, Brock earned a welding certificate. He quickly earned a strong reputation as a trusted metal fabricator. With drive and vision, he invested in large excavating and grading equipment and established Warpaint Enterprises. He was an entrepreneur and land developer, who was able to manage multiple ventures with precision and care.
Brock valued his family. His bond with his cousins formed the legendary “Andrews Fabulous Five,” fondly named by their aunts and uncles. Brock was larger than life and had herculean strength—his adventurous nature led him across the globe on hunting and fishing trips to Africa, Alaska, Canada, Michigan, Wyoming, and Texas to name a few, with his dad, cousins, and many close friends.
In 2013, Brock met the love of his life, Alexis Willey. What began as a deep friendship blossomed into a remarkable love story. Their respect and admiration for one another were evident to anyone who witnessed them together. They later created The Parker Mill, a wedding venue built from a historic wood mill. Brock took great pride in preserving the original character of the building, incorporating antique tools, the boiler thermometer, and other relics into its transformation.
Brock’s greatest joy came with the birth of his daughter, Emilia Marie—his beloved “whiddle baby.” Emmy was the light of his life, and nothing delighted her more than seeing her Dada’s face, and riding with him in his trucks and equipment. Everything he did and had planned was for her future.
There was nothing Brock couldn’t do—he could build, fix, or engineer nearly anything. He was a gentle soul with a fierce spirit, who lived life to the fullest. With his quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Brock made fast friends wherever he went. His laughter was infectious, and his presence unforgettable.
Brock is survived by his loving wife and partner, Alexis; his cherished daughter, Emilia; his devoted parents, Connie and Jerry; his nephew, Trevan, son of beloved brother, Brandon; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever remember his generosity, humor, and boundless talent. The world is undoubtedly better for having known him, and he is deeply missed.
