Ryan E. McCurry

Ryan attended Freedom High and earned a BA in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina. An avid baseball player since little league, ‘Mick’ was a beloved Catamounts baseball team member from 2000-2003, where he helped captain the team to a southern conference championship in 2003. Ryan remains close with many of his baseball coaches & teammates through their unique bond, experience and love of the game. After additional coaching roles, Ryan worked in Raleigh NC before settling in Charlotte NC in 2008. Ryan was an accomplished sales executive and certified risk management professional most recently working for Kynd. Ryan became close with many colleagues and clients over his years in the cyber security and insurance space, forming lasting relationships that spanned many years, roles and organizations.

Ryan is survived by his wife Randi McCurry, daughters Lucy (13) and Ellie (11), mother Shirley & step-father Jack Crowe, father Eric and step-mother Cindy McCurry & half-sister Bella Gray, sister Carrie McCurry & nephew David Bracey; in-laws Mike & Cille Allen, Michael & Angie Allen and niece Marita Allen and nephew Stuart Allen, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins with whom he enjoyed many childhood memories.

Ryan adored spending time with his children Lucy and Ellie, supporting their dance and gymnastics talents, and teaching them how to throw a baseball. Ryan also enjoys taking care of his yard and pool, reading cyber security and IT books, watching sports, and playing with his wonderful dogs Buster and Bo. His friends and family will remember Ryan for his giving heart, his excellent craft cocktails & mocktails, his love of live music and his ‘dad jokes’.
