GARNER, NC – Barry Yandell Blalock, 76, Garner, NC died October 14, 2025. Barry was born April 9, 1949. He was predeceased by his father BY Blalock.
In addition to his life partner Kevin Hinson of 39 years, he is survived by his mother Cordelia McBroom Blalock, brother Daniel Eugene Blalock (Pam); nephews Chadwick Blair Blalock, Jonathan Kyle Blalock (Melissa), great nieces, Bailey Blalock, Hadley Blalock and Sawyer Blalock. Barry is also survived by many lifelong friends and cousins whose friendships he cherished.
Barry graduated from Northern High School and Western Carolina University. He worked in the Wake County School system as a special education teacher as well as worked at Wake Technical College in the GED program. Barry was a member of McMannen Methodist Church, in Durham, NC. He and Kevin enjoyed their friends and traveling.
Graveside service and visitation will be held at McMannen United Methodist Church, 4102 Neal Road, Durham, NC, Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
