William R. Woodruff
William Randall Woodruff, age 78, of Wilkesboro, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at his home. He was born November 14, 1947, in Boonville, NC to William Howard and Alma Coe Woodruff. Randall opened a real estate business in 1974 and ran it successfully until his retirement. He went to Boonville High School where he played basketball, football, baseball and ran track. He was awarded most athletic and accomplished Yadkin County All Star in basketball, and he also played on the 1965 State Championship Basketball team. Randall went to Western Carolina University where he graduated in 1971 with his BS and in 1972 with his MA. While at Western Carolina, he played Varsity Soccer and received a letter in 1972. His hobbies were his dogs, his work, camping, hunting, fishing, and goofing off with his buddies. He was married in 1978 and his son, Casy Woodruff arrived there after. He was a member of the Wilkes Civitan Club for 25 years and Wilkes County Cruisers and was a life-long Methodist. Mr. Woodruff was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Becky White.
William is survived by his son, Casey Woodruff of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Carson Woodruff and Brianna Woodruff; and nieces, Candance Huffman and Mindy White.
The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026. A dinner will be held at the home of Randall at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday after the service. Covered dishes are welcomed. Burial will be held at a later date on the family farm. Flowers will be accepted.
