Vincent “Frank” Jones

Vincent Frank Jones gained his wings to match the crown he already wore Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1942, to Sam W. and Vencenia Jones.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and community member, Frank enjoyed playing on his tractor and spoiling his granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Sam Walker Jones and James Richard Jones.
He is survived by two sisters, Peggy Jones MaHaffey and Angie Jones Smith; and his wife of 58 years, Erla Jones; son-in-law and daughter, David and Margaret Phillips; and granddaughter, Luisa Edwards.
Frank had various jobs growing up, including serving as a Page for the N.C. House of Representatives, before graduating from Andrews High School in 1961.
Later, he served in the U.S. Army as 1st Lieutenant, and graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Business Administration.
Upon returning to his hometown of Andrews, Frank joined his father at Sam W. Jones & Son Real Estate & Income Tax Practice.
This saint of a man dedicated years to supporting and promoting the town of Andrews. He served as an elder in the Presbyterian Church, president of the Lions Club, chairman of the Cherokee County Food Bank (Andrews Food Bank), County Magistrate, board member of the Cherokee County Tax Equalization Board, chairman of District Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, chairman of the Andrews Library Board, chairman of Andrews Housing Authority Board, officer on the Andrews Chamber of Commerce board, officer on the Andrews Valley Initiative board and officer on the Andrews Development board. He loved “”Jeopardy”” and enjoyed infuriating his family with correct answers that he should not have known.
The family received visitors at the Valleytown Arts Center from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. A memorial service began at 2:30 p.m. the same day.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Frank Jones’ memory to the Cherokee County Food Bank, which is run by the Lions Club in Andrews, N.C.
Now he can wear funny ears to his heart’s delight and no longer has to grit his teeth in pictures.
