Terry W. Baldwin

Terry Baldwin, 82, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of his community, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026.

Born on July 13, 1943, in Seaford, Delaware, Terry was the son of the late Elmer W. Baldwin and Nellie (Andrews) Baldwin. He grew up with strong family values that shaped a lifetime of service, loyalty, and integrity.

Terry was drafted into the United States Army, where he served proudly during the Vietnam War. He remained closely connected with his Vietnam brothers and traveled with them for Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades and events, honoring the memory and sacrifices of those who served beside him.

After his military service, Terry earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. He went on to build a 36‑year career with DuPont in Human Relations in Florence, South Carolina, until he retired.  His work ethic, calm leadership, and dedication to the well‑being of others left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Terry’s faith was central to his life. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Florence, he served faithfully on numerous committees and held many leadership roles. He was especially honored to serve for many years as Chairman of the Deacons, offering guidance, compassion, and steady support to his church family.

Above all, Terry was a family man. He was a beloved husband, a proud father and stepfather, and the cherished “PopPop” of his two grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy.

Terry is survived by his wife, RoseMarie Baldwin; his daughter, Monica (Steve) Albright; and his grandson, Benjamin Albright. He is also survived by his stepsons, Fred Schilling IV and William (Julie) Schilling, and his granddaughter, Anne Schilling. Additional survivors include his brother, Sam (Lynn) Baldwin; special brothers‑in‑law Jim Barnett and Neil Newton; and special cousins Larry (Kim) Baldwin, Susan (Neale) Clopper, and Barbara Walters.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Milligan.

Visitation will be held Saturday March 7, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Florence, 300 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29501.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Florence, House of Hope, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
