Nanette was also preceded by death by her father-in-law, Joe Holland.<br \/>Nanette joined the Air Force after graduating from high school and she served approximately five years, achieving the rank of E-4 (SGT). Nanette was stationed in Texas, Mississippi, Kansas and in the United Kingdom where she met her husband, Scott. Nanette was a member of American Legion Post 108.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 kbVUcj ObituaryText___StyledTextBase-sc-12f7zd1-0 inFMmj\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Nanette received an associate degree in Christian education from East Coast Bible College (Lee University- Charlotte Center) and bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degrees in social work from Western Carolina University. Nanette was a licensed clinical social worker and was employed as a master&#8217;s level therapist at the Cherokee Indian Hospital (Analenisgi).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 kbVUcj ObituaryText___StyledTextBase-sc-12f7zd1-0 inFMmj\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Nanette supported Scott in pastoring First Pentecost Assembly of God in Franklin, Highlands Assembly of God in Highlands and Living Redeemer Assembly of God in Glenville. Nanette was a certified minister with the Assemblies of God. Scott and Nanette attend First Assembly of God in Franklin where Nanette could easily fill in the church band wherever she was needed. Nanette was a very gifted musician, and she used this gift to bring glory to God. While accompanying Scott, Nanette played her guitar and sung specials at the majority of Assemblies of God and Church of God churches in Western North Carolina from Waynesville to Murphy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 kbVUcj ObituaryText___StyledTextBase-sc-12f7zd1-0 inFMmj\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Nanette has played her guitar and sung at approximately 24 churches in Western North Carolina alone. Nanette has also played her guitar and sung in churches in Alabama and Georgia. Nanette would also occasionally preach and was a tremendous speaker. After church, Nanette would often be seen counseling people, praying with them and encouraging them with their walk with the Lord. Nanette had a very powerful testimony for Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 kbVUcj ObituaryText___StyledTextBase-sc-12f7zd1-0 inFMmj\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Nanette loved the outdoors and she enjoyed living in Western North Carolina. Nanette was an avid kayaker. Nanette served as the chapter coordinator and co-coordinator of Team River Runner, Smoky Mountains. Nanette received training and certification in swift water rescue. Nanette also enjoyed fishing, hiking, swimming and camping. Nanette enjoyed travelling and her favorite vacation spots were Hilton Head and Charleston, South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 kbVUcj ObituaryText___StyledTextBase-sc-12f7zd1-0 inFMmj\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Nanette is survived by her husband, Scott; daughter, Bethany; mother-in-law, Dixie Holland; brother-in-law, Eddie Holland; sister-in-law, Kim (Jackie) Breedlove; and three nieces. On Nanette&#8217;s father side, Nanette is survived by uncles; aunts and cousins living in Pennsylvania, and on her mother&#8217;s side Nanette is survived by an aunt and cousins living in Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 kbVUcj ObituaryText___StyledTextBase-sc-12f7zd1-0 inFMmj\" data-component=\"ObituaryParagraph\">Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Macon Funeral Home, followed by the service in the chapel at 3 p.m. Rev. Mike George, Dr. J Michael Brown, and Dr. Charles Kelly will officiate.
