Jo was\u00a0born in Roanoke, VA, and she lived her first 35 years there. She is preceded in death by her father, J.\u00a0Eldridge Schilling, mother, Rebecca Schilling, brother, James E. (Jim) and wife, Georgia Schilling, and\u00a0sister Sarah Schilling.<\/p>\n<p>Jo is survived by a nephew, James E. (Tripp) Schilling, and wife, Betsy, of Chattanooga, TN, and a niece, Cheryl Anderson, of Martinsville, VA.<\/p>\n<p>Jo lived a full and enjoyable life. She held a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of South<br \/>\nCarolina, a master\u2019s degree in education from Western Carolina University, and an Educational Specialist<br \/>\nDegree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Appalachian State University. Jo was a\u00a0Radiological Technician for 16 years before she began to teach. She taught radiography at Greenville\u00a0Tech in Greenville, SC for five years. Jo retired from Cleveland Community College after teaching many\u00a0radiological students for 22 years. During her career, she was a member and officer for the Virginia\u00a0Society of Radiologic Technologists, and she often lectured at Radiologic Technologist seminars.\u00a0Jo was an avid traveler and photographer. She traveled to six continents and over fifty countries.\u00a0An exhibit of her travel photographs was on display at Cleveland Community College.
