He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Pamela Deitz Galloway, and brothers, Conley and Randy Galloway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p class=\"p3\">He is survived by his son, Greg Galloway, of Tuckasegee; his daughter, Tina Conley, three granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters, all of Dover, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p class=\"p3\">Jack was a 1963 graduate of Cullowhee High School, where he returned in 1973 to teach Industrial Arts until his retirement from Cullowhee Valley School in 1995.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0He was Camp Lab\u2019s Teacher of the Year in 1992. He received a Bachelors of Science in Education from WCC in 1967, began his teaching career at Bass High in Atlanta, and later completed a Master\u2019s degree at WCU in 1976.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Jack was a member of Cullowhee Baptist Church, and grew up attending Wolf Creek Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tncms-region-article_instory_top\" class=\"tncms-region hidden-print\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p class=\"p3\">Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. On Nov. 18, 1984 he caught an N.C. Wildlife record-setting tiger muskie in Fontana Lake. A dedicated N.C. Lifetime Sportsman, Jack was renowned for crafting custom fishing rods, tying flies, and mentoring others in the art of fishing. He served as president of the local chapters of both the Sportsman Club and Trout Unlimited, and he supported ruffed grouse restoration and other wildlife preservation projects.
