Born on September 1, 1943, he was the son of the late W.N and Dorothy Brookshire. Gary was a member of High Peak Baptist Church. He was a school principal with 40 years in administration. He loved to work outside and being a handyman around the house. Gary loved to eat and try new foods. He graduated from Mars Hill in 1965 and received a Master\u2019s Degree from Western Carolina University.<\/p>\n
Gary is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Fox Brookshire; daughter, Christa Bailey (Dan) of Jacksonville, FL; son, Brannon Woodrow Brookshire (Saori) of Jacksonville, FL; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, David Brookshire.
