McCall and Josephine Brown McCall. She was married to the late William Eugene Taylor who preceded her in 1997.<br \/>\nShe received a bachelor&#8217;s degree in elementary education from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. She also earned her master&#8217;s degree from Western Carolina University.<br \/>\nHazel taught fifth grade at East Franklin School for many years until she retired in 1999. She was a member of the National Education Association and the North Carolina Association of Educators.
