Riddle<\/h1>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"ObituaryDetails_obituaryHeader__7SYzo \">Dr. Winston A Riddle, Ed.D, age 90, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina with his family.<\/div>\n<p>Winston was born in Buncombe County, NC on February 19, 1935, to the late Pinkney Stuart Riddle and Katie Sue Duckworth Riddle.<\/p>\n<p>Along with his parents, Winston is preceded in death by his wife Dr. Merrell Jenkins Riddle, Ed.D; his young brother, Perry Riddle; and daughter, Susan Riddle Higgins.<\/p>\n<p>Those left behind to cherish Winston\u2019s memory include three sons, Alan Riddle of Old Fort, NC, Bob Riddle and wife Elizabeth of Old Fort, NC, Mike Riddle and wife Robin of Charlotte, NC; son-in-law, Doug Higgins and wife Michelle of Milton, GA; sister, Joyce Faye Myers and husband Charles of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Jodi Ford, Jamie, Justin, Katelyn Riddle, Matt Higgins, Ashley and husband Austin Moro; step-grandchildren, Brittany Sullivan, Chris, Kendall and Cailyn Tilley; three step-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Old Fort, North Carolina. A funeral service will follow at the church from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with Pastor Drew Dalton officiating. Interment will take place at 5:30 PM at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain, North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Susan Riddle Higgins Scholarship Fund, Western Carolina University Foundation, 201 H.F.
