Nikki was born on December 9, 1945, to the late Aldine Cash Smith and Frances Louise Staton.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-preview\">\n<p>Nikki was a member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene in Waynesville where she had been choir director for more than thirty-five years. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the church board of directors. Nikki was an educator, teaching at Asheville City Schools \u2014 Hall Fletcher Jr. High and Haywood County Schools \u2014 Waynesville Jr. High. She taught school for 22 years and retired in 1997. Nikki enjoyed arts and crafts, especially painting and making crafts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>In addition to her parents, Nikki was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dean Henke of Sylva.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Nikki is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Kenneth Edward Henke and a son, Edward Len Henke (Kristen Duckett); as well as two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
