He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann Crawford Sherrill.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie was an avid athlete throughout his childhood and continued through college, including his time as a catcher. He later developed a deep love for golf and became highly skilled at the game. A graduate of Western Carolina University, Charlie earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business and Mathematics, and later completed the UNC\u2013Chapel Hill Executive Program.<\/p>\n<p>He built a life defined by hard work, integrity, and devotion to others. Charlie was a smart businessman who served as President of East Coast Lumber for more than 20 years before retiring. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend\u2014someone who never put himself first. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren deeply and had a warm, approachable way about him that made it easy to talk with anyone. He truly never met a stranger.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine Tollison Crawford; his children, Chip Crawford (Lisa), Keith Crawford (Melinda King), and Todd Crawford; and his grandchildren, Alexa and Brynn Crawford.<\/p>\n<p>A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery, with Roger Hartwig officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pinewood Country Club.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospiceofrandolph.org\/donate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hospice of Randolph<\/a>.
