He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary (Johnson) Ballard; three sons: Todd, John, and David; two grandsons: Reese and Brody; and two daughters- in- law: Michelle and Cathy.<\/p>\n
Bill was born in Richmond County, North Carolina and is the last of seven children. Bill served in the Navy, graduated from Western Carolina and retired from Burlington Industries.<\/p>\n
There will be no public service and burial will be at a later date.<\/p>\n
Memorials may be made to Givens Estates Resident Assistance Fund (in his memory), c\/o Givens Estates, 2360 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803.<\/p>\n
