He was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and continued his education at Western Carolina University and East Carolina University graduating with a Masters Degree.<\/p>\n<p>Guerry was a lifelong educator and mentor, beginning his career teaching carpentry and electricity at Farmville Central High School. He later served as Department Chairman of Electrical Installation and went on to become Dean of Construction and Industrial Technology Division at Pitt Community College, where he influenced generations of students through both his knowledge and his steady, encouraging presence.<\/p>\n<p>Guerry also answered a calling to ministry, serving for a time as pastor of Hooker Memorial Christian Church. His faith remained a cornerstone of his life, and he was most recently a member of Falkland Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A true gentleman , Guerry\u2019s life reflected a wide range of talents and passions. He was a husband, father, grandfather, teacher, school bus driver, pastor, outdoorsman, and trusted friend to many. He found great joy in fishing, cooking, and bringing people together. During his retirement years, he cherished his time as a \u201csnowbird\u201d at Big Cypress Seminole RV Resort in South Florida, where for 14 years he welcomed friends each season, cooked for the campground, and built a close-knit winter family.<\/p>\n<p>Guerry also loved travel and adventure, exploring the country from coast to coast in his RV with his wife and his friends, Gary and Kathy Jarman. One of his favorite simple pleasures was spending early mornings at Las Olas Beach Club in Cocoa Beach, Florida, watching the sunrise with his coffee and camera in hand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He was known for his tremendous sense of humor, his kindness, and his unwavering willingness to help others.
