Maiocco, Jr., 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 10th, 2026 after a hard fought battle with esophageal cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.

Born on May 28, 1966 and raised in Trumbull, Connecticut, Richard was the beloved son of Richard and Mary Maiocco. He attended Fairfield College Preparatory High School and went on to earn an Industrial Engineering degree from Clarkson University and an MBA from Western Carolina University.

Richard retired after 35 years from a highly successful career in pharmaceutical sales, where his intelligence, determination, and ability to connect with others earned him both professional respect and lasting friendships. His career growth gave him the opportunity to live in many different areas of the country such as North and South Carolina, New Jersey, Virginia and finally Louisville, Kentucky where he spent the last 21 years – never losing touch to friends made along the way.

Above all, Richard was known for his extraordinary sense of humor and his gift for making people laugh. He brought joy to every room he entered and had a way of making others feel comfortable and loved. He was a passionate mentor and coach to many, including his daughters Sam and Anna throughout their softball career.

He was a devoted fan of the New York Mets and the New York Giants, cheering passionately for his favorite teams through every season. He was also an avid golfer and would be on the course any chance he had with his life-long friends and his son, Joe.

Richard also expressed his love through cooking. Family and friends will forever remember his incredible homemade Italian pasta sauce, a recipe and tradition that brought everyone together around the table.

Richard was preceded in death by both of his parents, Richard and Mary.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Stacey Maiocco; his children, Samantha Davis (Taylor), Anna Maiocco (Isaac), and Joseph Maiocco (Summer); and his sisters, Kathryn Dudzinski (Keith) and Marie Gill (Michael); and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for his family.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ theme_builder_area=”post_content” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_button _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” button_text=”Obituary Link” button_url=”https://www.stoessfuneralhome.com/obituary/Richard-MaioccoJr” url_new_window=”on” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Richard L.
