Robert K. “Bobby” Peche, Jr., age 68, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Cochran. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service.<\/p>\n
Born on June 4, 1958, in Warner Robins, Georgia, Bobby was the son of Robert K. Peche, Sr., and Jo Anne Peche. He was preceded in death by his father. A long-time resident of Bleckley County, Bobby graduated from Cochran High School as part of the Class of 1976. He continued his education at Western Carolina University, where he played defensive line for the Catamounts and earned recognition as an All-Southern Conference player.<\/p>\n
Following his graduation, Bobby dedicated over twenty-five years to a career at Robins Air Force Base, working for the Department of Defense\/Civil Service until his retirement.<\/p>\n
Bobby is survived by his son, Robert K. Peche III (Julia) of Cochran; two granddaughters, Rosalie and Madeline Peche; his mother, Jo Anne Peche of Cochran; and his brother Tim Peche (Charlotte) of Cochran. He is also remembered fondly by numerous extended family members and friends.<\/p>\n
