Lamar Weldon Holder, 83, passed away peacefully at home on his farm in\u00a0<\/span>Belleview, FL<\/a>, on July 15th, 2026.<\/p>\n Mr. Holder was born to George and Janice Holder in\u00a0<\/span>Summerfield, FL<\/a>, on September 15, 1942. Lamar’s parents purchased a 423-acre farm in Belleview in 1950 when he was only 8 years old. Alongside his father and two brothers, he spent his youth clearing the property with pulpwood saws, raising cattle, and growing watermelons. In 1981, the farm was recognized by the Florida Forestry Association and American Forest Institute as the Florida Tree Farm of the Year. Lamar played a critical role in managing the farm throughout his life.<\/p>\n Lamar graduated from\u00a0<\/span>Lake Weir High School<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>in 1960, where he was successful in track, baseball, and football. He was nicknamed “The Rabbit” due to his speed and athleticism. After graduation, he earned an AA degree from Central Florida Community College (CFCC). In 1964, he married the love of his life, Cliffette (“Cliffie”) Kirkland of\u00a0<\/span>Summerfield, FL<\/a>. They enjoyed a beautiful marriage of 62-and-a-half years and raised three wonderful children.<\/p>\n
