Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Leslie Ellen Greer, age 58 of Duluth, Georgia who entered rest Friday, September 4, 2026. \u00a0Leslie was born in Danville, Kentucky a daughter of the late James Patrick \u201cJim\u201d Greer and the late Patricia Cress Greer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Leslie Greer was a Bank Examiner with the FDIC. Leslie was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, second mom, grandmother, friend, mentor, and a champion of causes dear to her heart.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We fondly called Leslie \u201cThe Boss.\u201d<\/p>\n
She was the planner, the organizer, the get done what needs to get done go-to. Life was for living.\u00a0\u00a0And how Leslie Lived!\u00a0\u00a0For an ordinary person, her calendar would be exhausting!\u00a0\u00a0For Leslie\u2013 it\u2019s how she thrived. Grass did not grow under her feet. She was always moving: the next trip, the next sporting event, the next concert, the next Highland Games, the next dinner with friends, the next Broadway show, the next volunteer opportunity, the newest exhibit at the Booth Museum\u2026<\/p>\n
And we are so grateful that she brought us along with her.<\/p>\n
Leslie immersed herself in her passions.\u00a0\u00a0And passions, she had many!\u00a0<\/p>\n
Leslie discovered a deep respect for Native American culture early in life and ventured out to North Dakota to partake in the Sun Dance. She found herself drawn to the spiritual aspects of their customs, and she incorporated many practices into her life. This journey brought her some of her greatest personal gifts by adding precious people to our family.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She inherited her grandfather\u2019s passion for Professional Bull Riding and frequently traveled around the country to attend PBR events with family and close friends. Of the 34 years in existence, Leslie attended the World Finals event 26 years consecutively.<\/p>\n
She was a devoted supporter of and gracious donor to her Alma mater, Western Carolina University.\u00a0\u00a0She served for many years on the Western Carolina Alumni Board and the Catamount Club Board. This love for WCU Catamount sports took her across the country to attend those events.<\/p>\n
Leslie was an avid concert and theater goer with an eclectic taste. In any given month, you could find her at various venues seeing Broadway productions, Shinedown, or Barry Manilow.<\/p>\n
After discovering her family roots in the MacGregor clan in Scotland, she joined the local chapter. Truly no surprise that she was soon the Co-chair of the Games Committee.<\/p>\n
Leslie\u2019s love of travel was well-known. Her itineraries were legendary. Her travels took her to the smallest of roadside oddities and coveted destinations across the world.<\/p>\n
To celebrate Leslie: Take the trip, go on the adventure, buy the concert tickets, visit the museums, live your life to the fullest!<\/p>\n
Survivors include a sister, Jennifer Greer Clark (Kevin Duren) of Orlando, Florida.\u00a0\u00a0Brother, Kevin Greer (Elisa) of Woodstock. Nieces, Sierra David (Nick) of Winter Springs, Florida, Morgan Clark (Fiance\u2019 Koby Rouviere) of Jupiter, Florida, Kylie Clark of Boca Raton, Florida and\u00a0Bett Shouse (Angus Carter).\u00a0Two great nephews, James and Tucker David.\u00a0\u00a0Extended Family, Angie Cody (Ben Schmidt), Kassidy, and Ellie Schmidt and Freida Cody.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens.\u00a0\u00a0The family will receive friends 6:00 \u2013 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home.<\/p>\n
