From a young age, Timothy understood the value of hard work. As a child, he helped his family work in tobacco, saving enough money through his hard work to attend college. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University.

Timothy spent his career in the grocery industry. He spent the last 17 years of his career with Harris Teeter as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager before retiring in 2023.

While Timothy was proud of his career and accomplishments, his greatest joy in life was his family. He was a loving and devoted father who was always there for his children. His kids were his top priority, and he never missed an opportunity to support them. You could often find him in the stands cheering on his children and proudly watching their sports. His love and support were constant, and his children always knew they could count on him.

Timothy also cherished his grandchildren, Cameron Turnbull and Jade Joyner, and treasured the time he spent being their grandfather.

He was a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan and especially enjoyed watching the games with his brother Larry. He also loved dirt-track racing and the excitement of spending time around the track.

Timothy is survived by his children, Kristin Birchette (Nickolas Jacobs) and Matthew Joyner; his grandchildren, Cameron Turnbull and Jade Joyner; and his siblings, Rick Joyner (Carolyn), Larry Joyner, and Pam Featherstone (Danny). He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Betty Jean Joyner.

Above all else, Timothy will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend—a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and was always there for the people who mattered most to him. His family will carry his love, his memories, and the countless moments he shared with them in their hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Timothy’s life and share memories with his family at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service in Stokesdale on Wednesday October 14, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Timothy Grey Joyner, 67, of Stokesdale, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026.
