{"id":16493,"date":"2021-09-07T22:40:45","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T22:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/comm\/?p=16493"},"modified":"2021-09-07T22:40:45","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T22:40:45","slug":"creative-careers-panel-and-networking-event-sept-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/comm\/blog\/2021\/09\/07\/creative-careers-panel-and-networking-event-sept-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Creative Careers Panel and Networking Event &#8211; Sept. 9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Career and Professional Development is hosting a <a href=\"https:\/\/wcu.campuslabs.com\/engage\/event\/7130047\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Creative Careers Panel<\/a> and Networking event Thursday, Sept. 9 from 4-6 p.m in the Illusions room on the third floor of the UC.<\/p>\n<p>Creative Careers is a panel with professionals that use their creative skills during their daily work life.\u00a0 Panelists will come from a variety of backgrounds in creative fields.<\/p>\n<p>After the panel, students will have the opportunity to network with the panelists. This is the perfect time to ask questions and get some great insight into how you can use your creative talents in your career and find creative careers.<\/p>\n<p>The following is a list of the panelists for the event as well as some information on their professional backgrounds:<\/p>\n<p><b>Cory Vaillancourt, Print and Broadcast Journalist<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cory is a popular print and broadcast journalist in Western North Carolina.\u00a0 Some of his work has been featured by the Associated Press and viewed all over the country.\u00a0 He currently serves as the Politics Editor for Smokey Mountain News.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>Teresa Pennington, Colored Pencil Artist &amp; Owner of TPannington Art Gallery<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Teresa is known as the \u201cArtist of the Blue Ridge.\u201d\u00a0 Teresa is a self-taught colored pencil artist with a talent she says is God-given.
