It has existed for 76 years, provides good networking and is hard to get. Fulbright scholars are seen as a representative of the United States and its culture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Fulbright Program offers passionate and accomplished students and scholars in more than 160 countries the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research, and exchange ideas. People who receive the Fulbright award from all backgrounds inspire, innovate, and contribute to finding solutions to challenges facing our communities and our world. Western Carolina University has had over 10 professors to receive this\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI will be doing research on students in journalism programs and will also revisit my dissertation and study journalists\u2019 understanding of professionalism in journalism in North Macedonia and Kosovo,\u201d said Spasovska.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She received her undergraduate degree from Macedonia at Ss. Cyril Methodius University in Skopje, Journalism program at the Faculty of Law. She then went on to earn her master&#8217;s at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and finally her PhD at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She has been teaching at Western Carolina University since 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spasovska will be in Macedonia and Kosovo for five months, from January to June of 2024. <\/span>Her host institution is called AAB University, Faculty of Mass Media and Journalism which is a non-public university created in 2008 after Kosovo was recognized as a state.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI am looking forward to being close to home, to be someone to change the lives of others and make an impact like people have impacted me,\u201d said Spasovska. \u201cThis is a glimpse of what is possible.
