{"id":18073,"date":"2024-01-30T18:36:31","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T18:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/comm\/?p=18073"},"modified":"2024-01-30T18:36:31","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T18:36:31","slug":"out-with-the-old-and-in-with-the-new-the-tv-studio-gets-a-new-audio-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/comm\/blog\/2024\/01\/30\/out-with-the-old-and-in-with-the-new-the-tv-studio-gets-a-new-audio-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Out With the Old and in With the New, the TV Studio Gets a New Audio Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Western Carolina University\u2019s TV studio installed a new<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Allen and Heath DLive C3500<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">audio board in the Center of Applied Technology over 2023\u2019s Winter Break.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The new audio board offers \u201cmore features, modern design [and is] more relevant to the current state of live audio production,\u201d said Johnson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It replaced the previous 20-year-old audio board that was out-of-date and breaking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WHEE-TV, COM-355 and shows produced in the TV studio will use the audio board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI am very excited to use the console on WHEE-TV productions as well as a class team up with the school of music in April,\u201d said Johnson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students interested in gaining hands-on experience with the audio board can join the WHEE-TV club or attend the TV Studio\u2019s student worker hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Allen and Heath DLive C3500 audio board cost $60,000 and came from the non-recurring budget request for 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The TV Studio student worker hours for the 2024 Spring Semester are Monday 12-2 p.m., Tuesday 10-12 p.m., Wednesday 12-3 p.m., Thursday 3-5 p.m. and Friday 11-1 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Western Carolina University\u2019s TV studio installed a new Allen and Heath DLive C3500 audio board in the Center of Applied Technology over 2023\u2019s Winter Break.
