Presenters noted that inequality can arise when individuals or groups face discrimination or when new technology increase the productivity of some workers. Presenters talked about the role international trade, immigration, and unions can play in determining the level of inequality. Many students noted that people can become discouraged when they witness a decline in the income relative to others. Other students noted that some level of income inequality can incentivize people to put forth greater effort.<\/p>\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12827 size-large aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/csfe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/61\/2026\/04\/IMG_4659-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/csfe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/61\/2026\/04\/IMG_4659-980x735.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/affiliate.wcu.edu\/csfe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/61\/2026\/04\/IMG_4659-480x360.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n
All participants respectfully listed to their classmates and asked valuable questions.
