Hinds University Center theater.<br \/>\nThe 10:10 a.m. event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_73671\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a class=\"cb-lightbox\" href=\"https:\/\/news-prod.wcu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Cynthia-Cooper.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73671\" class=\"wp-image-73671 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/news-prod.wcu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Cynthia-Cooper.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-73671\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cynthia Cooper<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The seminar features Cynthia Cooper, author of \u201cExtraordinary Circumstances: The Journey of a Corporate Whistleblower.\u201d Cooper is nationally known for her role in revealing the accounting scandal at WorldCom, a now-defunct telecommunications company that fraudulently reported finances. It led to the largest bankruptcy filing in U.S. history in 2002 and Cooper being named one of Time magazine\u2019s \u201cPersons of the Year.\u201d<br \/>\nThe seminar is sponsored by WCU\u2019s Dixon Hughes Goodman Accountancy Program, Office of Student Success, College of Business and Center for the Study of Free Enterprise.
