WCU Faculty are voting on two resolutions to change the language of the faculty constitution. The voting period is from February 4th to February 12th. The changes proposed require a two-thirds majority to pass. The ballot will be open from Thursday, February 6th to Wednesday, February 12th, 2020. The two items are:

WCU Faculty Proposition 1. Title: “An Amendment to the WCU Faculty Constitution that would clarify the process of electing faculty to the Advisory Board of the Center for the Study of Free Enterprise incorporating their election to the standard University election process.”

A “YES” vote supports this amendment, thereby establishing the election of three (3) faculty to the CSFE Advisory Board that are elected through the University election process run through Committee on Nominations, Elections, and Committees.

A “NO” vote opposes this amendment, thereby allowing the election process of faculty members to the CSFE Advisory Board not appointed by the Provost to be conducted outside the standard University election process.

WCU Faculty Proposition 2. Title: “An Amendment to the WCU Faculty Constitution that would change the selection to the University Athletics Committee of three (3) faculty as Chancellor appointments and (3) elected by the general Faculty to six (6) elected by the general Faculty.”

A “YES” vote supports this amendment, thereby changing the selection of faculty to the University Athletics Committee from three appointed by the Chancellor and three elected by the General Faculty to six elected by the General Faculty.

A “NO” vote opposes this amendment, thereby keeping the selection of faculty to the University Athletics Committee from three appointed by the Chancellor and three elected by the General Faculty
