Summary of Novel:

“A Long Walk to Water” by Linda Sue Park is about a little boy named Salva who lives in South Sudan during a war, men from the war come and he runs off with a couple of other people but he had to leave his family behind. After walking with the group they came to a camp where Salva met his uncle, they had good times then but the soldiers found them and since the uncle refused to go with them he was shot and killed with his own gun. When that happened Salva went to another camp and had to run from the soldiers and make it to the camp in time. Once Salva made it to the camp, he goes to New York City and gets a text about  his dad in the hospital getting a surgery in Sudan. He goes back to Sudan and finds his dad and he stays with him before the surgery. While he was in Sudan he finds a girl that has to get water day after day and she couldn’t even go to school. But one day as the boy came back they met each other because Salva wants build a water pump to get clean water and so the girl didn’t have to go and get water every day.
