        In the story The Horrendous Hurricane Mystery by Carole Marsh the mad-scientist and father, Artemus, studies natural phenomena. His son Nick and daughter Curie go along for the ride as they face the danger and drama of a category five storm.  Artemis owns a company called “Build Em Strong” where they place bindings on houses to help them withstand hurricanes. The whole family decided to check on the houses they worked on because there was a huge hurricane on its way.  While Nick and Curie were helping their dad, they discovered a company blog that had cryptic messages. Artemis thinks Nick and Curie are being silly. Then they figure out that Red and Oscar, two men who work for their dad, are up to no good and the houses that they are working on are being looted during storms.  Nick and Curie suspect that Red and Oscar are the looters. So they created inventions and set plans to catch them in the act.
