She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Counseling and Personnel Services (College Student Personnel) at the University of Louisville (UofL).\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sarah serves as the Director of Equity, Social Justice, and Community Engagement with the <a href=\"https:\/\/chestnutherbs.com\">Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine<\/a><\/span><\/strong><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, a fast-growing online herb school with over 6,000 students.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As an Asheville, NC resident, Sarah loves building positive people power here in the South. Her research methods use testimonios and oral histories to uncover the South&#8217;s healing practices, wisdom, and knowledge of Latinx students.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sarah is a cultural worker and healer, weaving storytelling, art, hierbas, and movement building throughout her work and organizing. She is one of the founders of Aflorar Herb Collective, which provides herbal community care and support to organizers, activists, and nurturers across the county.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">She is bold and courageous and believes that \u2026 &#8220;Together we can build constructive conversations from a new perspective.&#8221; Sarah is passionate about student and family engagement and using healing, art, and organizing modalities as avenues for transformative change for students on college campuses and across the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Previously, Sarah has worked as Associate Director for the University of Louisville Cultural Center and Western Carolina University Office of Admissions; founded the Louisville Latino Education Outreach Project and the UofL Latinx Oral History Project. She has also published Latino Student Resource Guide, an online resource tool for Latino families across North Carolina and Kentucky. Born and raised in the Bronx to Dominican parents, Rosann has her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in History and Mathematics from Syracuse University and a Master\u2019s Degree in Latin American History from the University at Albany.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Rosann has worked in higher education for over 20 years and is now a career motivational keynote and among the <a href=\"http:\/\/rosannsantos.com\/education-speakers-nyc\/\">best education keynote speakers<\/a> for high school and college students in the nation. She has also coached National Geographic Foundation scientists in Spanish in order to assist them in better pitching their research and making it easier to explain to the rest of the world.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Throughout her career, she has been trained in conflict resolution, crisis management, strategic development and assessment. In addition, she is a leader in new student and parent orientation programs, commencement planning and enrollment management yield events and strategies. When she is not on a college campus, she is busy coaching clients as a trained and certified Gallup StrengthsQuest facilitator and coach where she focuses on leading her clients toward a strength-based approach to their lives and careers.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">As the founder of Latinas in Higher Education, Inc. she believes in the importance of providing affordable professional development to those who want to improve their careers in order to better provide for the students they work with.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Rosann still lives in the Bronx with her 12-year-old son Ethan. She is a founding board member of Emblaze Academy Charter School in the South Bronx.
